Taught Courses and Lectures
While working at the Malta Maritime Museum, many opportunities came my way. One of these was the opportunity to give small courses on model ship building and sparodic lectures and workshops on behalf of the same Museum. These courses teach me as much as they teach my pupils.
Short Courses...
In July 2007 I was asked to conduct a short course aimed at teaching the basic information to students starting out in their first steps of ship model making. This was a 9-week course and the attendance was very encouraging. The lectures were held in the Malta Maritime Museum.

Students during these courses gave their utmost and worked really hard to learn the basics of this craft.
Open days and other activities
As part of the staff of the Maritime Museum, I often give various guided tours to guests explaining the splendour of the museum and answer any questions that they pose regards the models exhibited there. These guided tours are done for all ages - from school children to Ambassadors, representatives of other European or International Museums and also to heads of states.
The Malta Maritime Museum on behalf of Heritage Malta is involved in many different projects which sometimes require lectures or workshops to be done on specific subjects. One such activity was on 26 October 2003 when I lead a workshop organized on 'European Heritage Day' with the title of 'Maltese Traditional Boat and Model, a link to the National Identity'. Another case was with the Euromed Project La Navigation du Savoir in which I gave two separate workshops in October 2004. One was entitled 'How to document a historical boat' while the other was about ship modelling 'How to use this technique to reflect our knowledge about traditional boats in a scale model'.
In January, February and March the Malta Maritime Museum organized an open day with historical re-enactments for the general public. The attendance was numerous especially towards the end. Part of these activities, the Museum gave some time to the explanation of ship model making, the tools used by the model maker and showing some finished fine examples in the Museum itself.
